JNFSA, the Journal of the National Food Safety Authority of Egypt (NFSA), is the vehicle developed by NFSA to facilitate sharing, with partners and stakeholders, their scientific reports, comprising risk assessments, risk analysis reports supporting the formulation of decisions, and other scientific communications that underpin food regulatory decisions under NFSA’s oversight.
The Journal is peer reviewed through an editorial board appointed by NFSA, comprising NFSA scientists and Egyptian and/or international scientists.
The Journal will include pre-published papers or reports, that are being submitted for review, consultation and overall stakeholder input.
Manuscripts that have benefited from such input following pre-publication will be published in JNFSA as final publications, which can be referenced to support NFSA food regulatory decisions.
The creation of the JNFSA is the demonstration of the commitment by the Authority to transparency and engagement with national and international peer scientists and stakeholders. It is a cornerstone of the implementation of the 2023-26 NFSA Strategy:
- Strategic Goal 3: Engage with domestic and international partners and stakeholders to promote Egypt’s position as a leading food and agri-food producer, and to build trust in Egyptian food products, and
- Strategic Goal 4: Build scientific capacities serving NFSA and its stakeholders.
JNFSA is dedicated to NFSA scientific communications and consequently will not accept submissions from outside NFSA, unless directly invited by its Editorial Board or as may be decided by NFSA.
The administration of the Journal will follow an incremental approach aiming for a robust, independent and transparent editorial processes, supporting NFSA’s vision to be one of the leading food regulatory authorities in the Arab region, and globally.
